Always loved how goofy Captain Amelia from Treasure Planet could be, it’s an aspect of her character that a lot of people don’t really mention.

In terms of Burton sequel comics, I would recommend the Edward Scissorhands ones. They’re surprisingly decent, and the art style definitely draws on Tim Burton’s but adds its own flair.

Not only is the story in this bad (no improvements made from the original novel), but the art is also pretty uninspired.
Nightmare Before Christmas has such a distinct style that people adore—why even do something Nightmare if you’re not gonna make it look like Nightmare?

Every time I read a piece of Nightmare Before Christmas tie-in media (Zero’s Journey, Long Live the Pumpkin Queen, Battle for the Pumpkin King), I realize that Tim Burton was absolutely right about not doing any Nightmare sequels.
