It pains me to see young children wearing the jerseys of their favourite clubs, tarnished by sponsors promoting polluting industries dependent on fossil fuels, which simply compromise the future of these generations to enjoy football on a liveable planet.

And this is precisely the message I wanted to convey through this interview. Fossil fuels are the number ONE cause of climate change, YET in 2025, football maintains an intimate relationship with fossil fuels by promoting them instead of moving towards transition and decarbonisation.

However, PSG's success cannot be separated from Qatar's influence as owner and sponsor. It's impossible not to see the Qatar Airways sponsor on PSG shirts.

I'm not a PSG fan, but as a football lover, I was thrilled by the collective performances of Luis Enrique's team. This young team has realised the dream of thousands of fans and children and will continue to inspire future generations.
