My point is a bit different - the 1% mostly create wealth though assets - and scream it is unfair that they might have to pay on unrealized wealth - "we never have done that! What if they go down in value?" but we have been doing it for centuries - the first RE taxes were in the 1790s -

You know who pays taxes on unrealized gains?

Homeowners. As ad valorem. Ironically, they also pay taxes on unrealized losses in that comparison.

I reward myself for 40 min on a treadmill with heavy weights after -

To get through that treadmill, I read (non-fiction) AND have (my skiing playlists) music going - it is the only way.

It still sucks.
