My feed: some politics, some jokes
I’m not opposed to data centers. I use AI constantly but we shouldn’t subsidize them. They should be taxed to pay for job retraining programs and temporary living stipends for those whose jobs are displaced by AI.

Agreed. Democrats need to stop being the scoldy party.
Coons: Democrats need to stop telling Americans 'what to feel and believe' https://twp.ai/4iu7ZO

I want the enhanced ACA subsidies to be extended or even made permanent. I'm an insurance agent and my clients are getting screwed/dropping coverage. I'd kinda prefer that Democrats have the issue to run on rather than solve the policy problem. 21 million people is not "a small part of the country".

He may not be the worst president ever but he is without question the worst person to ever serve as president.

It’s uncanny how often people call me when I’m using the toilet.

#Fallout: China makes the most sense for the next installment of the games. They probably also had their version of vaults or some sort of Chinese Vault-Tec affiliate/subsidiary.

Ideally, in #Boruto, I'd like to see them steal Hidari's Rinnegan and give it to Sasuke once revived.

I had to delete my conservative friend on FB. He was living in my head rent free. I also realized that he was more interested in being right than being curious. He never responded to my arguments, picked and chose what he wanted to talk about, not the topic at hand, and didn't act respectfully.

I used to have this conservative friend on FB. We had debates that were (mostly) respectful. He once said that the worst thing to happen to the USA was the breakdown of the nuclear family.

I was like, "Really? Some women deciding to get jobs was worse than slavery? Is being anti-slavery woke?"

I'm going to see Avatar 3. I just hope it's not another story about a magical natural resource that's only obtainable by mass destruction.

King of the Hill needs to address Luanne and Ladybird’s absences in season 15.

Harry Potter didn’t need a remake. Prove me wrong.

I wish Trump hadn’t co-opted the thumbs up. I don’t know how to signal thank you when people are nice to me when driving.

Anytime any Republican brings up fiscal responsibility or the national debt always bring up “The OBBBA added $5T to the debt. Try again.”

It seems like there are some actual cracks in Trump’s armor. The real question is are there any GOP members that currently sit in congress that are willing to defy him.

My Harry Potter fan fiction has an alternative ending of the last book where he’s back under the staircase, still 10 years old, and magic isn’t real. It was all a dream.

Saw the 2nd Wicked and I don’t know… I was a bit underwhelmed. No show stopper songs meant they didn’t fully use the actors’ range. The scarecrow’s identity was extremely obvious, but they made it seem secretive. I’m no musical buff but I get why the ratings were mid despite all the money they made.

The thing about a ton of my favorite journalists and pundits like Johnathon Cohn, Liz Plank, and Matt Yglesias going full paid Substack for their writings is that I don’t want to pay for all them. If I pay I feel like I have to read every article so it creates more stress.

I’ve unfortunately become less informed as free media dies. There are a lot of good substacks out there but I don’t want to pay for all of them.

I’m excited that the Epstein files bill are being released but I don’t think it changes anything. Trump would never allow incriminating evidence on himself to be released. Maybe some other people get taken down or fired but he’s not going to let any harm come his way.

I think the redistricting wars are actually in Democrats favor at this point so far with Texas's map being blocked.

I think one of the reasons I love the #naruto manga and anime is the core theme is to keep coming back no matter what life throws your way. Not, never stop, but always get back up.

I like how @americandadtbs.bsky.social decided to just skip Trump and make Kamala the President for their more political shows.

I had a good Mark Manson thought:

“Everything happens for a reason.”
No, it doesn’t. Nothing happens for a reason.
Things just happen.
There’s no cosmic justice. No grand plan. And God, if you’re into that, is not a cosmic vending machine.
Stop looking for meaning. Start living anyway.
