I’m just trying to live in peace idk what the problem is, why I can’t just be met with the same respect and patience and space I try to give everyone else.

I always try to be practical and considerate but no one thinks I’ve thought anything through and that’s so far from the truth. I have had anxiety for 30 years. All I do is THINK.

The things I dislike about this book are the things I saw and hated in The Dead Take the A Train. I felt like that book was dragging so I opted to DNF. This one I have flown through so I’m going to finish it but my god, the suffering I have endured.

I have read 3 of Cassandra Khaw’s other books (The Salt Grows Heavy being my favorite) so I feel qualified to say that her stories set in the modern day are, in my opinion, the weakest. I can’t handle all the snarky quips and the WINKING.

The amount of times I rolled my eyes and groaned out loud. The amount of notes I have taken, all negative. The way I don’t know what the point of it all is! And I don’t even usually care IF THERE IS A POINT!!

I will let myself be frustrated and disappointed for a little bit and then I will move on. I’ll remember this and be better next time.
