Since I'm here a bit more actively, I wanted to share this commission I got from the wonderful @ephemilie.mov a few months ago!

12) Spiral Knights

A very interesting third person action game, and the first MMO I played, Spiral Knights is a game about surviving on a mysterious world. It's still online, but unfortunately defunct in terms of development. Still an enjoyable enough romp for what's left there.

11) Dead Space

My introduction and personal favorite game in the Survival Horror genre. The original is great in it's own right, but the remake takes it to the next level. Suit up, grab whatever you use as a weapon, and investigate the monsters and missing crew aboard the USG Ishimura.

10) Refunct

A simple yet enjoyable platformer, Refunct is a relaxing game about restoring life to an expanding area of barren gray blocks. Not a lot to it, but very fun to play and replay every now and then!

9) Elden Ring

Not the game that got me into Souls-likes, but easily the best example of them, and straight from the company that pioneered the genre! Difficult, but fair, pick up a blade, journey into the lands between and claim your place as Elden Lord!

8) The Division 2

A very fun third-person cover shooter with a lot of replay, and a TON to do. Fun solo, fun with friends, join the Division, head to DC, and take the fight to your enemies as your work to bring the country back from the brink.

7) Destiny 2

Not suggested for those with a lack of time, Destiny 2 is an FPS MMO with highly enjoyable gunplay, questionable design choices, and lots of space magic. Try it if you really want to waste a bunch of your time, or like shooting things.

6) The Vanishing of Ethan Carter

A fascinating narrative-focused puzzle game with breathtaking environments. Become a psychic detective and track down the whereabouts of a missing child. I absolutely adore this game's storytelling.

5) TRI: Of Friendship and Madness

A beautiful and breathtaking puzzle game with unique gameplay elements, an interesting story, and wonderfully memorable music. If you've got a decent PC and can stomach perspective shifts, give it a whirl!

4) Terraria

One of the most enjoyable sandbox games I've ever played. It's an absolute blast solo or with friends! It's got plenty to do, and a pretty fun progression system as well. If that wasn't enough, it's also got official mod support through tModLoader. Pick it up if you haven't played it!

3) Hollow Knight

Another massively influential game, and the game that got me hooked on the "Metroidvania" genre. Filled with colorful characters, dark themes, and a whole lot of charm! An enjoyable world to explore, and filled with great, replayability in multiple ways!

2) Paper Mario (N64)

My personal favorite game in Paper Mario series (due to lack of having played TTYD so far), and also a big influence on how I design stuff sometimes. A bit genre-starting, and a wonderful experience the whole way though, and fun to play again and again!

1) Hyper Light Drifter

Phenomenal game with a unique way of telling its story! Fun and memorable, with great style, good replayability, and wonderful music.

Massively influential to my world and how I imagine parts of my stories.

This seems fun, so I'd like to try it too! :3
