Couldn't have happened to a better band of assholes. Ovechkin is and always has been a Putin stooge and I still maintain that Tom Wilson should've been arrested for attempted murder - there is no place for him in the league.

It's less the Oblivion Crisis and more the Oblivion I'll-Get-Around-To-It.

I dunno, this seems pretty contextual. I think you should've said something like, "There will be no meatballs served without pasta this year."

Drat, now I want spaghetti and meatballs.

You can't fool me. That's a long S. That actually says "Conssluence".

Maybe, though I'd be more inclined to think that Jared was involved and Bolton kept out. I feel like that would've come out in his book if he had knowledge.

Plus, "The US conspired with Saudi Arabia to kill Khashoggi" ranks with "Reagan had Alzheimer's" among revelations. Not really a revelation.

I have some bad news about nuclear weapons (as in, unless there's one currently being worked on right this instant at Livermore Labs, California has access to none).

Washington state, meanwhile, actually does if they pull a Ft. Sumter, fwiw.

I don't think they'd work 100%. Perhaps combine them with a leather wrapping to keep hairs from getting caught.

I don't think so. He was a convenient political ally because of his extreme beliefs, not an actual regressive. Kissinger wasn't involved with Nixon's domestic crimes. Foreign officials tend to look outward.

You cannot steal a digital asset (unless you steal the physical media it resides on and there are no backups). People who use the term "steal" in such a context are either trying to manipulate you or have themselves been manipulated.

It was true back in the Napster days, and it's true now.

Plenty of people talked about it. We moved on because we can't talk about all the things all the times and ICE is literally murdering people in the streets.

I think many have underestimated the Schumer gameplan, tbh. I'm also frustrated with him, but not in a "nothing you do is legitimate" fashion. Appealing to those who want the orange guy taken down doesn't actually accomplish much, but broadening the appeal of taking him down does.

PWAs share the same criticisms I have for in-browser apps (since they're essentially the same thing).

You know what the maddening thing is? If a competent president were in office and had managed to stop the Gaza War, the Pakistani/Indian escalation, and maybe even gotten Russia and Ukraine to the table with an end in sight, they very well would deserve the prize. But the orange guy's not competent.

Me reading tarot cards in my bedroom isn't an atrocity, but it *is* overreach on your part.

"Whoops! I 'accidentally' fell onto someone from ICE and the got burned! Oh, well!"

But, in all seriousness, if they ever kettled a group with a unicyclist, I'd be worried for the safety of the unicyclist and those around them.

(I'd even argue that part of our modern madness can be traced directly to high population density. Stop making more humans when we could make the existing population happier instead and work toward a sustainable population where people can thrive with enough space.)
cassandrusb.bsky.social
The planet isn't just for humans, so we shouldn't be plowing under more of it, and the population density in the habitable areas is already too high for my linking. Remember yards? I used to have one, now I don't. Every human family should be able to have one, and have some privacy.

What? No , they aren't. Regarding performance issues, I fucking HATE using web interfaces for bug databases. Give me stand-alone clients any day. HTML wasn't meant for app usage. As for permissions - you can't get directions from where you are if the app doesn't know where you are.
cassandrusb.bsky.social
Well, you got me curious, so I went to take a look.

Didn't they...um...forget something?
cassandrusb.bsky.social
Yes, and I do love the ease of use, distributed nature, sandboxing, and containerizing. But "on Linux" is already a steep ask, unfortunately, hijinx can still occur within the app itself and the entire system is load-bearing on volunteer reviewers. It may not scale for general use.

More importantly, a person shouldn't need to be "highly motivated" to deserve not to starve because they couldn't find a job.
cassandrusb.bsky.social
No, I don't need you to tell *me* how to avoid malicious actors. I was probably working at an ISP while you were still downloading your first virus and claiming that it wasn't your fault because you didn't know better. Some of you got a little better. Most of you are never learned a thing.
cassandrusb.bsky.social
Ask Pritzker why it hasn't already been done. As far as I can tell, there's at least one murder and one attempted murder that needs arrests.
cassandrusb.bsky.social
There doesn't necessarily need to be. IANAL, but my understanding is that facts are established. If you say that the person rode with you, then they either need to deny it under oath or else agree - and lying under oath is kind of a big deal (and your texts with them may be usable as evidence?).
