And with three books in a row disappointing me, the next question is: Is it actually the books, or is it me? Am I just in a Mood, media-consumption-wise? Always possible.

Book 3 is on thin ice for being boring & having gone precisely nowhere at 38% in. It’s still got my attention only on credit bc it’s the latest in a series I’ve followed for a while, but the previous one disappointed me & this one may sever my enthusiasm entirely.

I reread a lot less than I used to — there are just so many books out there! — but there are definitely a bunch I’ll return to as comfort reads or in a reading slump. Pratchett. A few fave romances. The Last Unicorn. Watership Down. The Scarlet Pimpernel.

(One for bad politics — ie badly written, just *dumb*, not bad political opinions — and one for bad… most things tbh but the boring sex was really what did me in)
