Castro Community On Patrol is a California nonprofit volunteer safety patrol and education corporation that focuses on enhancing safety and security of the Castro neighborhood for everyone.
We patrolled in the Castro this afternoon to distribute more of the SFPD SAFE PLACE program posters to businesses in the 400 Block of Castro Street and on 18th Street. If you see the poster you know that business has agreed to provide a safe place and to call 911 for you if needed.

SAFE PLACE

If you feel unsafe or threatened in public, and see one of these signs in a store window, it is a SAFE PLACE for you to enter, explain your situation, and remain until help arrives.

Any premises displaying this sign will help you and call emergency responders. SHARE this with everyone.

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

Rates of domestic or intimate partner violence within the LGBTQ+ community are as high as they are within the straight community - sadly.

Help is available if you need it.

HUMAN TRAFFICKING

Sadly, modern slavery is very much still a scourge in the modern world, right here in San Francisco and well beyond.

Help us target the traffickers by reporting suspicions and helping to protect and support the victims.

CCOP works with many other nonprofit organizations to help make, and keep, the Castro a safer place to live, work, visit, and enjoy.

We join with all organizations preparing for the challenges of the new Trump administration in coordinating appropriate responses.
