From WIP Clearwater Haven Mysteries
Prologue Arriving at the landing stage, she leans on the rail at the stern of the boat, and gazes across the golden bay at the bright morning light shining on the city of hills. One of her favorite cities in the world, it had been her home for only a few short weeks, but she now needed to make her way from here. As she rode her reliable two wheeled steed up the hilly roads, she thought to herself, that though it was a modern steed it was at least wholly appropriate, as its invention, its design, was birthed in the very county she is travelling through. A new life was beckoning, but it was also partly familiar as this is the county of her youth. She has been away for many years returning only recently to spend time with her dying father. There has been much loss and grief in her life lately, she wonders whether going home will be the right decision. Time will tell. Some say it is unwise to step back in the same river, that it can never be the same, but she has a home to go to and friends of old to provide comfort and companionship while she mends her emotional wounds. The beautiful mountain rising up ahead, along the valley, guides her northwards heading for the small town on the Sound, where her new life will begin. The town of her childhood, will hopefully become a welcome haven.

Yes typographic consistency is vital, I was a magazine publisher and had to train the layout team on this. They couldn’t get it until they saw a messy layout next to a style sheeted layout.
