Frank's Storage Room

I'm Frank Catalano's storage room, slowly being unpacked of 50+ years of #scifi, #radio, #writing and other professional & personal memorabilia. As I look inside myself I'm sharing what I find. So. Many. Boxes.
As a TV tech commentator, Frank covered Paul Allen's Interval Research spinoff Zowie Intertainment. It created physical playsets like this 1999 set, interacting with PCs via serial cable, sensors & CD-ROM software.

This one, found in storage, can't connect today. And Zowie? Sold to LEGO in 2000.

Decaying photo album in a storage box with young Frank images worth saving & scanning, including on the student school board in junior high, helping a friend's magic act, dressed for a scifi convention and wearing a KTYD t-shirt (his first regular radio gig).

We don't talk about the frog costume.

As a 5-year-old, Frank was entranced by the electric model train in his grandparents' Berlin apartment when he and his mother visited one Christmas. So Märklin became a regular gift: engines, cars, track, crossings, signals.

The transformer power cord was rebuilt years ago. He may set it up again.

Frank's grandfather lived in Berlin and knew young Frank loved LEGO. So he gave him two wooden boxes to store it in, complete with wooden compartment separators (and lots of pieces).

They still are in excellent condition. And contain classic LEGO bricks.

Frank bought this 1975 AMT Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise Command Bridge model, but never built it. He took the parts out of the plastic bags. There's even an unopened tube of plastic cement in the box. But everything is unassembled.
