Could CNBC maybe give its writers a quick primer on what LLMs like Grok are and how they work? It doesn't matter one bit what Grok "says" is happening. It has no idea of what xAI is doing. It's an algorithm that generates output on the basis of "What would a human response to this query sound like?"

Hahaha! But of course! I mean, you can't really expect much from LLMs in the first place, much less one that's being system prompted by Musk.

Heh, there was a screengrab of Grok "apologising" for the CSAM, which I assumed was written by a human and posted as Grok, but it turns out the whole thing was prompted by a user... and good ol' dril wasted no time in trying to make it trip up ;)

Ollaan tultu siihen pisteeseen istuvan hallituksen kanssa, et mun puolesta voisivat vaikka lomailla loppukauden. On menny usko siihen, et sieltä tulee mitään Suomen ja suomalaisten etua ajavaa, ni olis parempi, etteivät tekis mitään. Se olis pieni hinta maksaa siitä, etteivät kurjistais tän enempää.

Son mun mielestä näppärää, miten rasismista pääsee eroon tosi helposti ihan vaan maalitolppia siirtelemällä. Näin vaivattomasti silmienvääntelystäki saatiin oikeistosankareiden mielestä "ihan turha kohu", ku heidän mielestään se ei o rasistista. EZPZ! Rasismi kitketty!

I've always been very resistant to the whole "touching my eyeball" thing, so there was definitely some discomfort initially, but doing it daily for a week or so, I got perfectly comfortable. I tend to turn my eye, place the lens off to the side a bit and let it slide into place with a blink or two.

Same. Woke up briefly around 11:30pm, when the fireworks started popping off nearing midnight, but I'm sure I was out cold again by the time midnight rolled around :)

Came across a thread on Reddit with this gem. It seems it just flat out refuses to respond to the query if the conversation trips some sort of safety guardrails. I guess it somehow parsed that whole thing as racist due to the "cavities turn black" bit?

Huh... When "political views" effectively boils down to "bigotry and hate" vs. "basic human decency," one has to wonder if it's really a wonder that something like that becomes a bit of a deal-breaker... ;)

Mul on siitä hyvä tilanne, et näin freelancerin ominaisuudessa tulee vastaan niin paljon erilaisia projekteja, et tulee ihan orgaanisesti jumpattua noita juttuja. Varsinki, ku on projekteja, missä leiska tulee suunnittelijalta ja mulle jää mietittäväks miten se kaikki toteutetaan teknisesti.

Also, describing someone as a "serial entrepreneur" has a weird ring to it. It makes it sound like they either struggle to maintain focus or that they keep failing, but just will not take the hint that maybe entrepreneurship isn't for them ;)
