On a new adventure. Had my left hip revision on Monday, a truly BIG DEAL. So I am here spending my first night in a skilled nursing facility.

My dear younger sister is drifting away. It has been two weeks since her final dialysis treatment. Thanks to medication provided by her hospice team she is no longer in pain after years of suffering.
I am feeling sad tonight remembering her hard life. Thankful she exposed me to Whippets.

Feeling sentimental and remembering Millie. My Japanese Chin rescued from hoarder/puppy mill at 13. She learned how to be a dog, barked after 2 years, lived to 17, so many health problems she was by far the most expensive dog I ever owned.

I was worried about my SNAP benefit but they have been raised by a whole dollar from $23 to $24 due to increasing expenses. Not sure how I will spend my new riches.

A friend made this drawing of her. It was triple her actual size. When I got her, she had been recovering for 2 months and was still a mess. Completely shut down. We expected her to live a few months. Died at 17 after becoming a happy dog.
