Often consultants are hired to do master plans and they make you a site for the project.

I’ve “sponsored” a message on npr before. They are very restrictive in what you can and cannot say. You can’t say your product/service is the best etc. That might explain the tone, though I don’t know the specifics here.

This is a very good idea and I will steal it.

Especially when you’re not being a jerk about it. Happens a lot on this site.

It would level the workforce playing field for small businesses, too, increasing healthy competition and innovation.

Wonderful guide and great reminder for me to plan! One additional suggestion for those with higher needs loved ones: putting presents in bags rather than wrapping paper is better if there are any motor issues :) It helps avoid embarrassment or frustration during the celebration.

I love this post. I work in local government, and have known so many great people who have both won and lost. Every one of them (regardless of whether I agreed with their policies) cared passionately about their community. Cheers to running for local office.

The author blocked me but he posted info on highly out of date therapies. FYI nobody has ever tried to stop stimming in ABA in my experience. However they reward him for accomplishing daily tasks like feeding himself, maintaining focus, washing his hands, etc. It is fun and rewarding for HIM.

Of course parents need to research and observe, but if others can be helped as my son has, I really hope you wouldn’t turn them away from therapy. Or accuse parents like me of being abusive for paying for/participating in therapy that my kid loves and has helped him immeasurably.

I sit in on my son’s ABA and (at least for him) it is not even a little abusive. I stressed about enrolling him because of internet chatter but the therapists are very patient, they try to teach him where he is rather than force him to do what they want. He has really blossomed. 1/2

Cities have been suburbified. Every major US city is Sweetgreens, Blue Mercury, Starbucks, etc. You can barely tell which city you’re in. The dingy and eccentric can no longer survive.

@stephenjacobsmith.com posted on them the other day!

Mostly I follow fellow planners and urbanists. Bluesky is amazing for niche interests. My follows include some so dorky and passionate that they have analyzed the zoning reforms HTS enacted in Idlib.
