I can't understand why they say "if it is a war crime..." since any declared war would be:
a) with the country (NOT war on drugs)
b) an official declaration by CONGRESS.
As you state, murder; 81+ people dead in many strikes, mass murder.

Civilians: felony murder trial

As I see it, in the first instance, people are curious about what you loathed about it.
In the second instance, they just go out and buy it. When someone writes about a book they love, that's what I usually do, sometimes thanking them for recommendation, other times, not.

Fixing our cat's digestive problems is something we can feel confident we can do with success. Fixing the world problems not so much. That's how I see it.
