Shoebridge is asking about Robodebt investigation. Reed says new Asst Comm and external Counsel ($1.1m) to investigate. Keeping ‘arms distance’ because of previous conflicts of interest of Brereton.
So in short - it’s gone nowhere yet.

Now Reed is defending Brereton for not appearing before the Senate Legal #estimates saying that’s not his role to.
Malcolm Robert’s says: well you’ll have to cop my questions then. He then starts asking for how many convictions in 2yrs. (Spoiler alert - only 1 solely under the NACC).

David Pocock is now questioning it and he’s unconvinced about the appropriateness of the arrangement. Reed is describing the outside work as a ‘public service’ but Pocock says someone as Commish earning about $800k should view that as a full time public service.
