I’ve been reading Nothing to Envy by Barbara Demick abt life in N.Korea. She talks about Kim Il Sung propping himself up as their leader, then father and provider, and as their god - while the regime couldn’t provide enough food so ppl starve. Alongside that, this language feels eerie and deranged.
