I've been working on my one-voyage study all week. Enrolled in SAG course for setting up website. I've done 3 research articles, 2 profiles and loaded 3 documents. It's still private for now but pleased with my progress #GenHour

Do you ever wonder why you can't find a marriage on the NZ DIA website? This one has been completely scrambled. According to the Intentions to Marry they are John A SIMS (groom) and Hannah Matilda BERRY (bride)

I've found my Dad getting a prize for Calf Club, and his learner's cert for swimming 50yds. My Mum seems to feature in fancy dress competitions and this is when she was 6 months old.

That's a useful tool to play with. Five of my gaps are Irish the others in London, Kent, Essex. There's another two 4th g-grandmothers who I only have their first names. DNA has helped complete a lot past gg-grandparent level. #GenHour

FamilySearch Labs Full Text Search now has Irish Registry of Deeds transcripts of memorials. Not sure of coverage but by searching name “Charles Montgomery” and keyword “Broughshane” I’ve found my 5x g-grandfather’s death date. #genealogy #GenHour

This is so cool. Here is the opposite effect - my ggg-grandfather had 12 children but only one, Arthur Myers, had any descendants alive after 2001 to do a DNA test. #GenHour

Latest find this week - a letter of reference for my ggg-gm, Lucy Stuart Hannay from 1867 in Alexander Turnbull Library, NZ. #GenHour She didn't seek employment in NZ until 1880 - possibly sent in search of her daughter.

Just finished reading this book. Ferdinand Mount's aunt has a shadowy past with more twists and turns than you can imagine. A fascinating and well-told #genealogy research story, that includes his missteps. Highly recommended.
