Wasn't on that other forum but heard that all my favorite news sources are here now. 💙 Far more likely to read/comment than to post.
Same!

Would have loved to see the same thing happen in real life! But Pope Leo may be the next best thing.

I am eternally grateful for your piece about the tyranny of morning people. Thank you. That said, I am also grateful for the months each year when there's still daylight until 7, 8, even 9 p.m. But gawd that first week of DST is a bitch.

Thought of that too.

"Staging" a coup? We seem to be in mid-to-late coup right now.

Exactly

My favorite part of the press conference was earluer, when he started blaming Biden. I was watching on News4 in DC and they actually cut back to the newsroom mid-rant. I was very pleased! Unfortunately they cut back to the press conference before the worst of the DEI comments.

I listened to the police feed on openmhz.com and heard a couple of mentions of a hit-and-run at Wilson and George Mason that was related to the big accident, so I'm guessing it was that.
January 28, 2025 at 3:49 PM
Looks like one of the vehicles on Wilson was dealt a glancing blow while the truck was in the wrong lane. As the truck continues towards Ballston on the wrong side of the road, you can see it bump a black SUV, which then slows and stops (as the police car makes the U-turn to follow the truck).

I don't see the pickup striking the white car "as it turned" onto Wilson. It looked like the car was already fully on Wilson when the truck hit it. I can't see the car starting the turn, but based on how fast the pickup was going, I think he wouldn't have been visible yet when she started turning.

I was concerned that this one ended up being fatal when I saw the Arlington Alert email saying that the road would remain closed for accident reconstruction. I'm so sorry to hear this.

In the first line of the second letter, "opened" should be "open."

That's important to me. I have musician friends whose albums I've bought there. And live music - that's my happy place, but my couch has some sort of evil magnetic force that I too often fail to overcome

Thanks! I've had Bandcamp ever since my then-16-year-old daughter put some of her recordings up there years ago but I never really explored it!
January 22, 2025 at 1:46 PM
Ha, I didn't even know you can still do that!
