Very upsetting. When is Congress going to put a stop to this? When has the US ever "disappeared" citizens? Their families have a right to know where they are. It is inhumane. Trump is an evil bastard.

General strikes can be very effective. At the very least, there should be general strikes in cities occupied by ICE. No work, no school, no commerce. Stay home. No one has to open their door to ICE without a judicial warrant. Trump wants confrontations so he can invoke the Insurrection Act.

Yes. Exactly right. Shut em down. Shut everything down. It's more effective than protesting on the street and Trump can't invoke the Insurrection Act for that. This should be a nationwide tactic. Are you listening Maine? Because you're up next.

I just saw on the news that ICE has shot at 17 civilians since January! Why? Immigration violations are under civil law, not criminal. Unless the person is a dangerous armed criminal who is threatening their lives they shouldn't even have guns drawn. And bystanders, protesters? Zero justification.

A letter to the editor? Do they still have those? When I taught English, I described "letters to the editor" as artifacts of the past--back in the "old days" before the internet it was a piss poor way to publish an opinion. You'd be lucky to get it published & if you did not many people would see it

The First Amendment states, "the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances." This establishes assembly as a protected right alongside free speech and press.

Warren is a powerhouse. She is one of the smartest, most honest, and most courageous voices in the Democratic Party. She's not talking about purity tests. She's talking about having the courage to stand up for what's right & to counter the radical right with the necessary boldness and determination.

A good suggestion here is "wind-down" time--a relaxing routine to transition into sleep, so I don't have to wind-down after I'm in bed with the lights shut. And if I'm awake for an hour or more, ruminating, I get up & do stuff. Then I make a cup of herbal tea, read or do puzzles-- then can sleep.

That's only if Trump doesn't interfere with the election. I'm becoming scared that the ICE situation is a powder keg & can lead to a scenario that will provide an excuse to declare martial law & call off the election. This will make things worse. Republicans can prevent this if they do something NOW
