Reading fantasy books and staying angry
My question is how there is all of this non budget stuff in there. For example: it says it will be illegal to regulate AI at the state level, or even worse says that federal courts won’t be able to enforce contempt of court citations. This is Congress signing away their power and the court’s power

I am not a young person and Senator Durbin has been my elected official/rep since I was in elementary school! He wrote me a letter back (remember letters?) as part of a school project and I got to read it to the whole class. End of an era indeed.

We plan on coming next week. Until then a sign we saw at the Daley Plaza protest.

Exactly! So let’s flip who is strong and who is weak. Trump must be framed as weak and not in charge in this scenario. You say you don’t wanna bring him back but can if you want to? Prove it or you are weaker than El Salvador.
April 14, 2025 at 7:28 PM
Trump will only reverse this decision if he thinks not doing so makes him look weak. It’s not about what is true but what is public perception and the narrative we are using. I think it’s pretty clear that nobody in the White House cares about moral arguments.
April 14, 2025 at 7:24 PM
Messaging needs to be: Trump is not in charge in this situation and that’s why he can’t get anyone returned. We need to focus on his weakness because that is the only thing that will work. I’ve seen some posts on this but not enough. Flip the script.
April 14, 2025 at 5:16 PM
This!! This is the narrative that is going to work. Why isn’t every pol and media outlet screaming this??
April 14, 2025 at 4:47 PM
Maybe the administration isn’t bringing him home because they can’t. Because Trump is too weak and El Salvador is in charge. Don’t let them claim that they are choosing not to.

We are coming! Just going to be a little late.

Spoke with his office yesterday- got straight through. Told them as a constituent to vote no on the CR. Also got through to Sen Duckworth.

I think we don’t know about it because we are all supposed to be vaccinated and measles eradicated. I rarely see this mentioned in news articles.
March 8, 2025 at 2:52 AM
Measles erases your immunity to almost everything (except measles) for about three years after you contract it. The real way measles is a killer is that it leaves you exposed to everything else that is going around, even if you already had it.

Illinois should set up its own loan forgiveness program that requires state residency for a set number of years plus working for a non-profit and/or state/local government. For example, a way to address teaching or nursing shortages.

Take your seat so they can’t use it and then walk out. Glad you are my rep!!

I think they should dress in “anything but a suit”. Wear regional clothes, whatever. Just no suits. And wait for a reporter to ask why.

NIH funds all sorts of scientific research, for example long COVID and other post-viral illnesses. Surely our efficiency experts would rather people be healthy and able to get on with their lives. history.nih.gov/display/hist...

Ok, there’s a pretty dramatic plot twist early-ish in the book that changes the perspective- at least try to get through that bit. I really liked it and need to get the next two books read.

I LOVED these as a kid. This series is what got me into fantasy books. So good.
