I myself haven't been able to get a working MP3 player since most of the older ones have dead batteries, so I'd like to share my method;
Internet Archive. There are so many fucking albums on there, no ads, no imperialist bullshit.
Also, extremely easy to download your music, which you should do.

honestly a great idea, like yeah I'm always talking about cassette and minidisc but you don't need to invest in pricey vintage hardware to exert more control over your music, you can get old mp3 players for pennies, people still make them
