My top genres are IF/VNs, RPGs, simulation games, and cooking games. I love mechanics based games. But I also adore a well written narrative game.

This is just an preference for mechanics over narrative based game design. All games need is a gameplay loop- which is why Visual Novels and Interactive fiction are games. Narrative design can also be told through mechanics, environments, and art. Or it can be the whole game. I personally like both.

We got rid of three disc video games, just to replace it with a mandatory external drive.
