Well, this was a lovely surprise. I had no idea the SCREAM specials were being collected including my DRACULA FILE story that saw me teaming up with Vincenzo Riccardi for the first time - and would ultimately lead me recommending him for STAR WARS: TALES FROM THE DEATH STAR!

I think as creators that’s all we can do. As a full time writer, I write to survive, to earn a living, to keep a roof over my family’s head. And yes, knowing that people are out there loving what I’m doing is brilliant, but that’s not why I sit down every morning and start typing.

So that’s what I have to live for. For those moments when the writing takes over, when I’m lost in the worlds at my fingertips and so grateful that I can support the ones I love by doing what I love.

I write because in the moment, when it’s working, when I’m making things up and solving problems and creating something with an amazing team, that’s… that’s transcendental. The best feeling in the world, second only to the love I feel for my family.

And those moments when someone tells you how much they love your work, those moments are golden. Pure joy. I am so grateful anytime anyone shares what my work has meant to me. It is humbling and brilliant and intoxicating. But that isn’t why I write.
