@jay.bsky.team I'm seeing a need for (i) an identity-sharing protocol to enable group migration, especially when the migrating group needs to establish new identities on the new platform and (ii) a place to migrate to where group chat is well supported. For (ii), is that here? Is (i) unsolved?

There is a great summary here of the 5 ways to organize information ... it ends with something tantalizing. What if there are many ways? I posted a link to it to a chat group at Canonical's Open Documentation Academy as an answer to the question: "How do you organize the topics?"

Here's a paper from that era laying out (likely-crippling) problems with SDI. The academics who opposed it were viewed as rogues. A publicity campaign that ignored the issues went to publications with no relevant expertise like the J of the Am Medical Association!

I'm not accustomed to such discipline and musicianship from a singer. WKCR in New York has traditionally run a 24-hour Louis Armstrong festival on both his birthdays: July 4th and August 4th. It's wonderful, well worth streaming.

Thanks for explaining how to get past celebrating ignorance: cultivate humility, develop curiosity, and bring back the experts. Like FDR getting past the Dust Bowl era by admitting ignorance, looking for the cause, finding the cause, reducing the cause, and guiding the landscape through recovery.
