I've seen a few people comment how they love the "Conan reference" here.

Reminds me of when I worked on Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions and everyone was loving that Beenox added a reference to "Spider-Pig" from The Simpsons Movie.

I'm such a MOTU nerd, one of my biggest reactions watching the new trailer was, "Was that Vikor?!"

Yes. Yes, it was Vikor.

Who knows how good the actual movie will be -- but no one can deny they're NAILING the fan service.

Maybe monitor your push-notification bot’s excitement about certain dates a little better there, OneDrive…

Fun bonus: You can also make out our first cable box -- totally dial-based -- which was on the floor for some reason. We had probably had cable for a handful of months at that point.

Finally, I spy Chutes & Ladders, the Donkey Kong board game, a Lite-Brite, and...some action figure set I don't recognize at all. Probably generic toys of some sort. Anyone recognize?

You can also make out the box for Mr. Mouth there, too. youtu.be/UIp1DvxEfvc?...

Something kind of stunning I'd learn years later: I always thought he was meant to capitalize on Pac-Man -- but the toy debuted in Japan in 1976...where it was called PAC-MAN!!!

The centerpiece there is Kid Kong (open box to the right), which I tweeted about back when Godzilla vs. Kong debuted on HBO Max.

Not sure how I found the commercial buried in this YouTube video, but I'm glad I did: youtu.be/QUZz7cB-now?...

Random photo (of a photo) of me I just stumbled upon from Christmas morning 1981.

How many toys and board games can you identify?

RIP Gil Gerard -- one of the first live-action heroes I remember loving on TV as a kid.

And this tweet from just after I saw Endgame is still my head canon until proven otherwise.

Looking forward to this one!

While downloading, I remembered I reviewed the NES version, I think in 1999 for the All Game Guide. T2D’s attract mode (it has a legit attract mode!) already surpasses that one. web.archive.org/web/20141116...

Oh, wow, I’m in it! No idea what I’m looking at here. I’ve never seen this picture.

Not a total loss. I absolutely remember having this football too, and I totally haven’t given it a thought in 40 years. ebay.us/m/2hMC9y

Really cool piece of Marvel-gaming history up for auction at Heritage right now. Cool to see @tombrevoort.bsky.social's name attached, too. comics.ha.com/itm/video-ga...

The whole batch, if you’re curious.

Top Cow sent me a stack of Tomb Raider #1 variants when I covered the comic in Official U.S. PlayStation Magazine.

Somehow—over 25 years later—I’m just now realizing that one was autographed by several creators—including the late, great Michael Turner (on the logo). I can’t believe it. Wow.

Can you identify the silhouette in the corner of my office right now?

Look what arrived just as I was listening to @retronauts.bsky.social’s NES Launch Ranking Hootenanny…

I feel attacked.

Are there any spirits within that nexus?

Until now I had assumed the harsh lighting was obscuring "Iron" -- but Wizard says that'd be "Ice"? I'm still thinking it's Iron Man since Iceman's an X-Man already and wouldn't be a special appearance.

Five years later, I've finally stumbled upon some press for Capcom's X-Men 2 for SNES, @frankcifaldi.bsky.social, from WIZARD #48 (Aug. 1995): archive.org/details/wiza...

Listening to @jparish.bsky.social try to figure out how Master System's ALF could have been good, I'm reminded of this @vgapocalypse.bsky.social game pitch I made a few years ago.

TL;DR -- Whole new concept. Reskin Reggie Jackson Baseball to bring Melmac's favorite sport, Bouillabaseball, to life.
