It's not often alien aircraft hover over our back garden. This is in fact the Wolf Moon at 07.00 this morning, the first full moon of the year.

Earlier this year I sketched while my stylist Hayley worked with another client. I drew on the spot in pen then added colour at home, hoping to do justice to Hayley's cascade of wavy locks. With 2 young daughters at home & 2 salons in Windsor and Egham, Hayley & husband Sean are in perpetual motion.

The couple in the foreground had lapsed into thoughtful silence, but the lively young folk behind them had plenty to say to one another. Caffè Nero in Peascod Street, Windsor -- another coffee shop capture in my pocket sketchbook.

These two people have never met, nor have they ever sat next to each other. First I drew the chatty woman on the train, then on the Tube I sketched the man. Back in the studio I added colour, asking myself what this couple-who-aren't-a-couple needed most. All I could think of was wallpaper.

Good to see more of the friendly folk I know here on BlueSky. <waving from Windsor>
From the archives, a page from my pocket sketchbook wherein I gave everyone a head of ginger hair.

National Gallery espresso bar, 2019. This little group seemed to be engaged in a problem solving exercise, and I had the feeling the conversation would continue long after they left. Happily, they stayed put long enough to make it into my sketchbook.

Drawing the news on telly, 2019: 'Brexit Crisis’ with Adam Bolton, then at noon Jayne Secker and Tom Macleod (top right) leading with proposed changes to divorce laws, with comment from the Justice Secretary and a divorce lawyer.
