I think about this all of the time. There are so many people in political and public life that do such obvious and objectively bad things, that I just don’t know how they live with themselves. I mean, if I accidentally cut someone off in traffic I feel guilty for the rest of the day.

I may have liked more it if ours was cornbread based. And when I say no one ate it, most of us would take a small amount to be polite, but as far as I know no one enjoyed it. I never saw anyone get seconds and there was always like 85% of the pan left.

We did this in central IL too. Thankfully it didn’t survive the previous generation. No one ate it, so I’m not sure why they continued to make it.

I think a lot of people care. It’s just that the people who “matter” are too concerned about their own self interest to say anything. The reporters in the room for example, they don’t want to lose access, so they keep quiet. Even though, like you said, everyone knows it’s wrong. Hard to blame them.

Watching Philadelphia in a theater opening weekend. During Tom Hanks climactic speech I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house, but one guy was loudly ugly crying. Just full on, full volume sobbing. Felt so bad for him.

FYI you inspired me to go buy a new pair of running shoes yesterday. I did the stride eval and they recommended the Hoka Gaviotas. They are a mix of cushioning and stability. We’ll see how they work for me.
