Compost Collective have wrapped up their workshops at Lyndhurst Primary School! 4 weeks. 4 roles. Countless climate solutions. After getting up close with worms to see composting in action, the children explored the need for soil health in the face of a changing climate.

The UK’s National Association for Environmental Education journal commissioned an article by CCAC’s chair, David Lloyd Jones, on designing for extreme climates, and the omission of climate change in the current primary education curriculum.

We are proud of the recent co-design project between children at Laycock Primary School, Islington, and designer Clara Chu. Year 5 children designed a backpack that would be suitable for their journey to school in a future climate extreme🌍🤩🌱

Architect Angela Curci, of @zhaofficial.bsky.social, has been co-designing with 9- and 10-year-olds at William Tyndale Primary School in Islington. Together, they have produced designs for flood resilient schools of the future.

Climate Ready Peckham!🌱

Children at St John's & St Clement's CofE Primary School are re-imagining Peckham Rye Park for their 'Transforming Urban Spaces for Extreme Weather' project.

This co-design with Michael Pecirno of Hassell Studio is focused on making the area resilient to climate change.

An update from ‘The Farm of the Future’…

Children from The Bemrose Primary School in Derby have been busy presenting their design ideas based on a nearby farm. Architect Polly North inspired them to imagine how it might be transformed to be climate resilient in 2050.

Thanks to fashion and textiles innovator Aurélie Fontan, school children have been learning all about the environmental impact of fashion and innovative ways to reduce it!
