Today is International Human Rights Day! It's a great day to introduce our new Board Member, John Head. John served with Mennonite Central Committee Ontario from 2014 to 2023. Their projects promote human rights across the globe. Please like this post to welcome John to the CCBR Board!

On December 6th, flags across Canada are at half mast to commemorate the women killed in Montreal at École Polytechnique. Gender-based violence in Canada still requires our attention and dedication, perhaps more than ever, and community-based research is vital in these efforts.

It is a beautiful day today as we walked as a group in honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. We are glad to be part of a community that takes the time to carry out these important and healing actions. Thank to everyone who came out, from University of Waterloo and the community!

This week is #peaceweek2025 ! The University of Waterloo hosts an online Peace Week calendar for events that run from International Day of Peace (Sept 21) to the NDTR (Sept 30). The UN theme for 2025 is Act Now for a Peaceful World. Print out the attached poster and pin to your bulletin board!
