David Lynch is (was) so cool.

I think they were hampered this year by both contenders (Demon Slayer and Chainsaw Man) needing audiences to watch a season (or two) of TV beforehand. Oscar voters are probably gravitating to movies that require no previous knowledge of the IP

Yeah. Its probably not as shocking as it was when it was first released, but the fake out is still good

Huh, they've gotten stricter
January 20, 2026 at 3:26 AM
They require a website now? Huh, I don't see anything about that on their page about how to claim an author profile. The last time I listed a book/connected it with my author profile was 2021 though so maybe things have changed www.goodreads.com/author/program

I think authors can create pages for their book on Goodreads. That's what I did anyway

6 is an even number. Much more stable, smooth sailing. That's just math.

The Pizza Pizza near me doesn't even give you a box. They give you two paper plates to cover the top and bottom of your pizza and go "good luck getting this home!"

Ah I thought he looked familiar, or just looked like the type of guy hbomberguy used to make fun of

It will be like Marvel Event comics where you get pages with 30-40 characters on it and 90% don't have speaking lines or any plot relevance. But they're still there.

I thought the animation was pretty nice and a good return to 2d for Kenji Kamiyama, who has spent the last 10 years directing some pretty bad CG movies (though now there is good CG anime, just not from any of the studios he used), but the script could've used work.

Unfortunately I know a lot of people who will give a fuck. If it's got LOTR branding (and isn't anime, cause they weren't fans of that War of the Rohirrim) then they'll see it.

I would've watched that Avatar Aang movie twice in theaters if Paramount hadn't decided it was beneath cinemas

I looked through mine this Chrstimas. I thought I had some cool ones but apparently they need to be "first edition" to be worth anything. But I did find some mysteriously unopened first edition packs which was weird. Why did I buy packs I didn't open?

I still spend most of my time online on BBcode forums. Especially forums where it costs money to join, so the bad kind of nonsense stays out

Terrifying stuff

Some guy on twitter was trying to convince artists that drawing/painting is just "technical skill" and that all the decisions don't matter compared to the concept which can be summed up in a sentence. Which is such a boneheaded argument that I wonder how these people manage to feed themselves

No, no I don't think I will

Man, the story of something awful is something else. Went from being an edgy comedy forum run by a guy who turned out to be a wife beater and then died, to now being one of the safest spaces on the internet. But spawned some crazy shit along the way

Sure wasn't ideal. But hey, it can't get any worse, right?

Dang, so cool

It's funny cause they're the best paid in the world in animation, too. An American animator on Zootopia can at least expect 70k base salary plus overtime pay as a junior. But head over to Japan and the folks who made Chainsaw Man a global hit get paid peanuts. The whole movie only cost 4 million.
