Finally, I'm getting to a question for y'all... Do you have a go-to resource for helping traditional print designers migrate to web design concepts and best practices?

I want to emphasize that I'm not questioning designer talent or capability. This is a problem of adapting from a static media type to something dynamic.

I encountered more of this in the early days of the web when traditional ad agencies were in a frenzy to adopt the web, but I still find designers entrenched in this background much harder to work with.

I always try to educate gently as I go, but these are not small shifts and require time to adjust and adapt in ways don't align with project deadlines.

There's also a difference in tooling...adjusting from something like InDesign or Illustrator (I can do a whole other thread on why this frustrates the hell out of developers) into something more web-specific like Figma.

There's conceptual gap (e.g., static vs. responsive), but also practical gap of general web usability and design concepts (e.g., heading levels, units of measure, color contrast and accessibility, etc.)

I occasionally will try to cancel an online service, just because I know they'll offer me a discounted price for a few months to stick around.

Recently this bit me in the butt though. They called my bluff and the cancellation went through and then I had to renew at a higher price. #failedhack

Thanks, Jeff! Sounds like a short trip, but maybe we'll cross in the hallway track!
