Charing Cross, Glasgow. Building on the left in 1900’s photo is The Grand Hotel which was demolished in 1969 for the M8 Inner Ring Road. The M8 runs under this section below. Reference point is The Cameron Memorial Fountain on the left which is still standing.

Old photo shows old route of Balgreyhill Rd on right and original route of Springburn Rd on left. Road on right now Lenzie St. All buildings gone apart from the tall tenement in back ground with turret which is a good reference point.

Formerly Queens Dock / Finnieston Quay now The Scottish Event Campus which The OVO Hydro, SEC Armadillo, SEC Centre are located. The Queens dock closed in 1969 and was filled in in the 1980’s using some of the demolition rubble from the former St Enoch’s Hotel.
