So in the midst of this demanding time, my colleague Betsy McDermott Altheimer and I — two of your fellow fundraisers who have both experienced serious burnout and lived to tell the tale — are offering a respite.

this #fundraising / #nonprofit work is not everything.

This work is not even the most important thing.

This work is a MEANS TO wellness for our communities... but if we're sacrificing those working to create that wellness, in the process?

Uh uh.

Not worth it.

And after today, there's not much chance to take a breath... because then comes Giving Tuesday... and the sprint to calendar-year-end, a stretch of just a few days where MOST annual funds come in for most nonprofits.

On a day like today, it may be anathema to say this, but I'll say it anyway:
