#BSUENG490 Adrien's mom was an interesting addition to the story. She immediately knew something was up, and didn't want him. Maybe it was mother's intuition. I think she handled it okay, albeit very weird.

#BSUENG490 Doing extra research for "Precious" added so much more context into the story. I had never heard of the folktale referenced. I also just love to see a story where a woman finally stands up for herself.

#BSUENG490 The principle "I am willing to cause unhappiness" jumped out at me. I have been such a people pleaser my entire life that I have been consistently unhappy to make others happy.

#BSUENG490 The connection of snakes and birds between the two stories is probably one of the least traumatic comparisons I can draw. It's interesting how the "snake" is killed by the birds in the first story, but the bird's eggs are eaten by the snake in the second story.

#BSUENG490 Sci-fi has never really been one of my chosen genres in media. However, I don't think I have a strong opinion on this book yet. Also, it moves so fast. I'm still trying to absorb the worldbuilding and make inferences, what do you mean everyone is dead!?

#BSUENG490 I really thought that Daniel was going to turn the gun on himself. I also actually cheered at the reveal that Rafe was the dad. My roommate definitely thinks I'm insane.

#BSUENG490 I do wish that trans men were also discussed in this work, but I have also never heard the discussion on sexual disability rights, so that was interesting to learn about.

#BSUENG490 I'm glad we are getting more cultural history now. The hate for the British runs DEEP in those Irish veins. Also, Daniel almost shooting himself during the fight!? There were two live rounds and he got lucky.

#BSUENG490 The realization that the diary entries were one-way flight locations and prices was wild. I'm on the same page as Cassie rn, Lexie had a great life (from an outside perspective), so why would she plan on leaving? Also, this is Daniel when anyone tries to talk about the past:
