If you hadn't created a cult of Starmer despite all the readily available evidence that he'd behave exactly as he is, you might have a point. Centrists always pretend to be shocked at the things they enable, so they can lie to themselves they're the good guys - but only once it's safely too late.

I'm think I'm going to wait until it's 8 degrees or above now. Cold water swimming has been shown to be great for mental health. I love it because it does change your mindset. Nothing you're facing is going to be harder than getting into that water - it really sets you up for the week.

I'm in a similar position, having given up a full-time job thinking I could easily get a part-time one and also finish my novel - haven't managed either! I have a couple of trusteeships to keep busy. Normally I'd rave about outdoor swimming but had Xmas flu so my acclimatisation's shot for now.
