It’s all statistics in the end. Things “could be attributed,” but could as easily be reasoned differently. It’s like the old silly joke: one drunk talking to the other “Y’know doctors say drinkin’ halves you life? How old are ye? 30? You’d be 60 now, mate!”

Many things would be seen “awful” from our “elevated” perspective. Should the pyramids in Egypt be demolished, since they are a showcase of what historical monuments slavery was able to produce?

Solar panels do depend on non-renewable rare-earth metals though. And have very low recycling potential. My point, in general, is that nuclear (and thermonuclear) is a capability that humanity should use because it is practical and pragmatic.

Nuclear power plants, indeed, produce a certain amount of radioactive waste that we have not found a way of recycling fully. But for a gigaplant we are talking of c.a. 3 cubic meters of waste in a year. Compared to the relaunch of coal power plants in EU — this is tiny (even if not insignificant)
