I still feel... very at peace. Very comforted, knowing my dad would have loved me no matter what. And one of the saddest parts is that he never got to meet he person that made me as happy as he always wanted me to be when I was younger.

My dad's best friend when I was a kid was this awesome trans guy, my dad was ALWAYS an ally. But sometimes I look back and wonder if maybe it was more than that. I'll never know, but I just wonder if there was a part of him he always had to keep to himself and didn't want me to feel the same way.

I'd always thought it was something he said in solidarity to me because people always thought I was queer growing up and I was bullied for it, and he wanted me to know I always did and always would have his support, even after he was gone.
