Isn’t it more effective to give help the person not fall down the hole rather than waiting until they fall to help?

It makes no logical sense, other than it’s intentional so some people are stuck navigating getting out do the hole & falling back again even when they do.

So much of the available help is based on stepping in when someone is at rock bottom. How about preventing them from getting there in the first place?

Why wait until people are at the lowest to provide assistance when now they have to deal with the trauma that let them there?

The help system is broken and it’s set to keep people in cycle of poverty. Addressing practical needs that benefit survivors without further traumatizing them to jump through bureaucratic loopholes would shift the paradigm.
