The surprise billing issue often presents a false choice: either do nothing and accept opaque, arbitrary prices, or do something about it and accept government-set prices. That framing erases the option we should want most: transparent, competitive, market-discovered prices.

Markets are not the enemy of health. They are how we get more choices, faster innovation, and care that adapts to real people rather than political cycles. If we want a healthier country, we need a system where good ideas can actually compete.
