A failed gimmick account.
TikTok is not being banned. It is being required to divest itself from China. It refuses to do that for some reason, which will result in its ban.

We can push the work off to some new developing nation. This might be the natural cycle of developed nations but idk. I don’t know shit, nor have I ever claimed to.

As china’s industrial sector matures and their workforce becomes more specialized (thus higher payed) once cheap goods become more expensive. Now we are in a place where cheap goods are expensive to the point where we notice. We can either come to terms with this fact of life or

People think an economy is good when they can get common goods for a low price. At the end of WWII housing was cheap in the US because a ton of people had died. Additionally the Chinese were rapidly industrializing which made a ton of goods super cheap to import.

I think it’s obvious that trump won the election because people feel (or were made to feel) that grocery prices are too high. In Japan like America, people are buying goods at volumes completely unheard of. Clearly there is an emotional and financial disconnect. I have an idea what it might be…

Isn’t protectionism a part of socialism/populism to some extent? I don’t think the socialists’ tendency to jump on “their” side comes from the same place (race) at the very least.

That’s a pretty close vote though. I think that as she gains more seniority and experience she will become apart of the party leadership. I don’t have numbers but I bet that vote would have been WAY different a few years ago.

Conservatives might have to finally deal with the consequences of their actions. Tariffs are going to affect all of us after all.

I don’t think “person of the year” has an inherently positive connotation. I think it’s just a mark of significance. And trump has had - and will have - an incredibly significant impact on the entire world.

Suddenly all conservatives will act like this is yet another thing that he ran on but somehow everybody knew he didn’t actually mean. Like the inverse of the project 2025 which wasn’t real during the campaign but will be real when he’s in office.

At least it wasn’t like the quadruple red herring like they did with EGOT a few days ago.

Would you tell your child to say thank you to a pencil after it “helped” them write an essay?

Good parenting is actually socializing a child with other people and teaching them social skills imo.

Personifying AI has lead to a lot of people being weird about the tech.
