I think it's worth talking about suburban/exurbanites, who cosplay as part of this "downtrodden rural America" and seek to punish cities, all while themselves largely extracting and moving capital out of those cities to those benefits (e.g. the SEPTA defunding)

As someone who works in software, a lot of these people hide behind "my job is just to solve technical problems, it's not my job to know or care about how these tools are used", much like a lot of civilian defense contractors.

As someone living in NYC, all I can think is "it's a matter of when it's us, not if". Watching y'all carefully to see what we need to do when the time comes.

It's not blocked. You can choose to allow or collapse graphic media in your account settings.
FYI, on the Minneapolis shooting video: Bluesky hasn't taken it down. It's been labeled as "graphic media" so that people can avoid it if they choose.

The one question I have about a post-oil future is: huge amount of pharmaceuticals and industrial chemicals come from feedstocks that come from petroleum refining. Will there be a huge spike in price without energy to subsidise them?
