since humor isn’t gonna translate for everyone i’m not really surprised it didn’t land for everyone. i thought the writing, directing, and acting direction was genuinely pretty great and smart. it worked for me, it’s fine if u didn’t for u but it feels disingenuous to me to pretend it’s slop

minecraft movie was like napoleon dynamite with a minecraft skin which i enjoyed so i had a pretty baller time. i think people who describe it as slop just don’t understand that the movie was supposed to be funny in a really specific way (and imo it succeeded but that’s subjective)
