The first time I tried to ask someone in Japan if they knew English I was in a movie store. A week later I figured out that "eiga" dosen't mean english, "eigo" does.

This was my favorite temple on my Japan Trip. This temple(Kousanji) is a bit more modern than others, I think 1936. If I recall right, three or so levels, with three pagodas, 3 courtyards, a tall buddah lady, a cave, and a peace monument behind it. Oh, and a tea house, and a cafe.

Crossing to Shikoku from Beppu. I think it was around a two ish hour ferry? Traveling from the landing was a bit more difficult since the public transit wasn't modernized. I had to struggle with understanding fare and signage.

I was VERY tired after this walk. I'm glad its been long enough that my first thought isn't of the crippling ankle pain.

Probably around Beppu. You could walk along the Sakai river for a good couple miles.
