Me when I see Elon Musk screen caps on here:
A woman in a dark coat in a living room saying "Have you been on Twitter again? Well, don't."

Oh definitely. Especially in arguments that are about things where there are several positions where you can be comfortably described as "correct" (debates about religion, say)

I watched an interview with an online debater after the Kirk incident and the main problem with debates that I could see is that it's rarely between two equally prepared people in a neutral setting. There is an inbuilt pointlessness to most of them.

Regrettably, yes.

My coaster always looks very stressed about being a coaster
A woolycoaster in the shape of a concerned cat with a mug of tea on it.

Yeah, it obviously takes a lot of self discipline but I always admired super prolific artists who could look at a completed work and say "best keep that in the vault."

There was something inspirational growing up in this era, so much hope through science and cooperation

Which is why is feels so awful becoming an adult when anti-intellectualism and pride in lacking empathy have taken root

Yeah, I think you get two kinds of bad follow ups at her level - the experimental work that the artist tried something and it defeats them or just indulging your worst instincts.

Something you don't see anymore is songs about going to the fair. People rather watch Netflix than be led by an unfamiliar air.😞

I've gone back to do a PhD and am now realising what college would have been like if it was only doggedly pursuing knowledge - mostly giving yourself homework!

Perhaps our college worked us too hard as this is still perhaps the most preeminent novel based in our campus.

I remember a few years ago at a panel someone working for a paper said the easily most popular section of the Culture section was the non fiction reviews. Sometimes it seems that was their ideal format.
