Oh definitely. Especially in arguments that are about things where there are several positions where you can be comfortably described as "correct" (debates about religion, say)

I watched an interview with an online debater after the Kirk incident and the main problem with debates that I could see is that it's rarely between two equally prepared people in a neutral setting. There is an inbuilt pointlessness to most of them.

Yeah, it obviously takes a lot of self discipline but I always admired super prolific artists who could look at a completed work and say "best keep that in the vault."

Yeah, I think you get two kinds of bad follow ups at her level - the experimental work that the artist tried something and it defeats them or just indulging your worst instincts.
