Soggy rocks and ancient horrors
I’d say it’s more the other way around - CoD is catering to a specific post 9-11 audience that were desensitised to and glorified militarism. It’s a symptom, not a cause. This isn’t videogames bad, it’s war-crazy American culture fundamentally expressing itself.

Legit. I lost track of webcomics (including DC) about a decade ago, stumbled upon Sen on Bluesky last week and my first thought was “well, obviously”.

Oneechanbara! ThorHighHeels has done some good videos about that (and the wider Simple series of games).

Wanna know how well this has been done? Showed her the trailer and my *mum* bought a copy. Brilliant concept, incredibly well executed. Stunning. Really well done lads, more please!

Real. Most interesting use of the Star Wars property since Empire Strikes Back. Felt like what good speculative fiction *should* be, not just wish-fulfillment merchslop

To be fair, they tried that in an update for AC: Shadows and it was absolute anticlimactic shit.

I’m genuinely intrigued in what could be problematic about Furry visual novels?? Aren’t they literally no different to other visual novels? Have I missed an episode of Culture Wars? Is it on iPlayer?

Unfortunately it kinda can be - especially when it could be something *bad*. It’s almost better to have a game cancelled than to release something that could well damage the brand for years. Financially you’re no longer taking risk. You know what you’ve lost at that point, and dont risk losing more.

Just try not to threaten anyone’s national sovereignty and you’ll be fine!

Coward didn’t do the alpha move and pencil in his own lizard woman fuck scenes. Pathetic

Agreed. It’s like we got chapters 2,4,6,8 and 10. Enough that it was all kinda there, but still very jarring. I think it’ll be looked on more fondly in the future than XVI, even though that is really the (in my opinion) better game.

Wait. Evercade is fucking *BLAZE*?!
January 20, 2026 at 1:03 PM
Nah, it’s got one lol. It’ll be a button combination. I really wonder who was out there actually using the turbo button back in the day.

Real. If the little rat wanted to do anything about it, he could. Instead he’s just grandstanding safely to win political points from the American “liberals”. Like go fucking start another petition, weaklings.

Real. The setting would be *ass* if it was static.

No, I mean specifically the exact moment. I want that, extended ad infinitum.

I preferred when he was getting milkshake poured over him in Swindon.

Oh, those are SO good. Just so utterly, utterly bizarre. It was 40K absolutely in its element, with so much (I think) inspiration from Book of the New Sun and Viriconium.
January 19, 2026 at 12:01 PM
Agreed. There’s a whole world out there!
