Dr. Ian Best, Medical Director of Pediatrics at Morris Hospital, will be on hand to discuss a pilot project using ambient AI for documentation. Let’s explore how we’re using AI in practice, how clients are using it, workplace training needs and guardrails. Bring your experiences and questions to foster a rich conversation about how we can thoughtfully integrate AI into clinical work while maintaining integrity and depth in care.

Identity and sense of belonging in integrated care

Single Session Therapy (SST) has shown promising results in improving mental health outcomes in fast-paced, resource-limited settings. But what happens when we move beyond the individual and engage the entire family unit? This session introduces the concept of Family-Centered Single Session Therapy (FCSST)—a framework that blends the core strengths of SST with principles of family-centered care to address both relational and clinical needs within integrated care. We’ll explore the current evidence supporting SST and family engagement, discuss clinical contexts where this model may be most effective, and introduce participants to the foundational components of FCSST. Attendees will leave with ideas they can bring back to their own settings—and a preview of what’s to come in the full in-person session at CFHA’s 2025 Annual Conference in October. My wife, Rishy, and I are owners of the Beloit Sky Carp baseball team, the high-A minor league affiliate of the Miami Marlins. I received a nice note from an employee saying they liked that I had ended an email with the words “gung ho!” I replied with a group message explaining a little more about the term and how it sums up what we want in the Sky Carp culture: an enthusiastic atmosphere created by an energetic group of people working together.

In the wake of a global pandemic and increased national awareness of systemic racism, the time is now for sustainable action to address health and social inequities. This year’s conference will focus on acknowledging and addressing the systemic racial and socioeconomic inequities in healthcare and will examine a path forward together.
