MBC is more than paperwork — it’s powerful clinical practice. 📊✨

Check out this new piece on building MBC skills in PCBH:

Beyond the Checkbox: Developing Measurement-Based Care as a Clinical Skill in PCBH - Journal of Health Service Psychology
Measurement-Based Care (MBC) holds significant potential to enhance the effectiveness of the Primary Care Behavioral Health (PCBH) model, yet it remains inconsistently applied. This article positions MBC not as a procedural task, but as a core clinical competency that fosters therapeutic alliance, clarifies treatment goals, and promotes equitable care. Drawing from contrasting clinical vignettes, we demonstrate how tools inform clinical decision-making and enhance collaboration when applied skillfully by Behavioral Health Consultants. Finally, this article identifies cultural, structural, and operational barriers to implementation and offers pragmatic strategies to integrate MBC into routine care. By reframing MBC as a clinical competency, we advocate for its broader adoption as a standard of care within integrated behavioral health and PCBH specifically.

Family-Centered Single Session Therapy—where SST meets family-centered care

✅ Evidence & family engagement
✅ Practical takeaways
✅ Sneak peek of CFHA 2025 session

Welcome! You are invited to join a meeting: Beyond the Individual: Reimagining Single Session Therapy with a Family-Centered Lens. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the meeting.
Single Session Therapy (SST) has shown promising results in improving mental health outcomes in fast-paced, resource-limited settings. But what happens when we move beyond the individual and engage the entire family unit? This session introduces the concept of Family-Centered Single Session Therapy (FCSST)—a framework that blends the core strengths of SST with principles of family-centered care to address both relational and clinical needs within integrated care. We’ll explore the current evidence supporting SST and family engagement, discuss clinical contexts where this model may be most effective, and introduce participants to the foundational components of FCSST. Attendees will leave with ideas they can bring back to their own settings—and a preview of what’s to come in the full in-person session at CFHA’s 2025 Annual Conference in October. Speaker: Dr. Melissa Welch, PhD, LMFT
