A vote is unnecessary - Trump could just direct the DoJ to release the files.

Chill & let's see where we are in 5 years' time. EVs have won the race; we're just not quite sure where the finish line is yet

Is EV take-up "poor"? We bought our first EV about 4 years ago & at that stage were reasonably early to the party. Consensus seems to be that it took about 30 years to go from horse to car. When the FBT free EVs hit the 2nd hand market they will be cheap & they will all be sold.

Frontbenchers have to do actual work like produce policies & be on top of govt policy. Backbenchers can swan around causing trouble & going on Sky (& have their salaries topped up by consultancies for mining magnates?)

I'm old enough to remember the "Australia Card" in the 1980s. Blocked by the senate repeatedly & too hot for anyone to raise since thank goodness. As Ian says, mandatory ID cards are a terrible, terrible idea.

Fun fact about compulsory voting - the purpose of the law is to compel the government to facilitate voting for everyone to ensure that no-one is disenfranchised.

FOI fell under my area in a major agency. Standing our ground on the principle that "information should be released unless there is a reason not to" was unpopular. The usual, and preferred approach, is that "information will not be released unless we can't find a reason not to".

Take that back! 1980's "Green Steam" - drink a bit out of a can of VB & top it up with Stone's.

You guys have a very difficult task in trying to resist the Israeli propaganda machine that has mounted a ruthless, hostile takeover of your heritage.

I estimate that the world's largest operational CCS plant is equivalent to 6kmx6km of mature forest. When we consider construction & operating costs, yes, CCS is a fossil fuel industry scam.

"Sceptical - not easily convinced; having doubts or reservations". Why has it become commonplace to refer to these people as "sceptics"; they are firm in their beliefs and are evidence denying zealots.

I asked Copilot:
"The system is designed to provide financial security for individuals in retirement, reducing reliance on government pensions." It missed out the bit about it also being a tax free inheritance scheme.

“The problem is that Mr Morrison put all of his eggs in the AstraZeneca basket, ignoring advice to adopt the world’s best practice of sealing deals for four to six vaccines" said Albanese. But hey, let's underwrite the same Morrison strategy for the nation's defence.
