Sure injuries happen and you can't play scared. But you can play smart and whatever they were trying to accomplish on that play call could have been achieved by a RB. It was a dumb play call in the situation and Payton lacked situational awareness.

Can someone just point out that Payton was the guy who called a QB run while in FG range in overtime. Seems like people are afraid to call him out for that.
